Dr Kamarulzaman has been a sportsman since his youth and has over the years developed a strong passion for treating sports-related injuries. This passion has led him to pursue his dream to become a Sports Orthopaedic surgeon. The journey towards this ambition has led him to participate in orthopaedic training courses both locally and internationally including fellowships across the world from the Philippines to Korea and even to Germany.

He has been serving as the Head of the Sports surgery unit in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR), Klang since 2014. In this capacity, he has been treating athletes with sports-related injuries to knees, ankles, elbows, and shoulders both non -operatively and by arthroscopic surgery. He has also assisted geriatric patients with shoulder, hip, and knee problems which he has successfully treated via both conservative and surgical means.

Aside from his passion for healing sports injuries and helping his patients regain their mobility and active lifestyles, Dr. Kamarulzaman has always had an innate interest in transferring his knowledge to the next generation of surgeons. In light of this, he has been actively involved in orthopedic training and has been coordinating national-level orthopedic programs since 2017. His mentorship role has also seen him coordinate the Housemanship course at HTAR, Klang which involves training and inducting young doctors into practice.

His academic credentials have been further enhanced via his publications in numerous international medical journals. Additionally, he has also been appointed as an examiner for Viva assessments under the Orthopaedic Specialty committee Part 1 Examination in 2018 whilst serving as an internal examiner for the PRO III examination (MBBS) for International Medical School (IMS), Management & Science University (MSU).
